Mark Anthony Laux, age 56 of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, passed away at home on May 22, 2017, after a two-year battle with cancer.

Mark was born to Kenneth and Ethlyn (Guyette) Laux of Le Sueur, Minnesota. He attended St. Anne’s Elementary School in Le Sueur, graduated from Le Sueur High School in 1979 and St. Cloud State University, St. Cloud, Minnesota, in 1989 with a major in music. He studied at Minneapolis College of Art and Design in the 80’s.

Mark was an accomplished musician, playing piano, violin, synthesizer, and recorder. He also composed many original pieces of music. While a student at St. Cloud State University, Mark served as a liturgical musician at Christ Church Newman Center and the Church of Saint Peter, both in St. Cloud. Later he served as accompanist and choir director at St. Michael's Church, West Saint Paul, Minnesota. He was a talented accompanist with phenomenal improvisation skills and was dedicated to serving the Church through his ministry.

Mark was also a gifted artist who painted many portraits, pictures, jewelry and colorful Middle Eastern-style bottles.

Mark had a gentle soul, a profound spirituality and generous spirit.
